annoying little error : “Windows – No Disk Exception Processing Message bla..bla..bla”

Recently I got this annoying little error “Windows – No Disk Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c …bla..bla..“. Every time I insert removable device like SD card or external hard disk this message appear and some of the software in my PC won’t run until I click one of the button on the error message. But the annoying part is this message won’t disappeared, even after I clicked it many times.
Apparently in my case, this is happened since I have installed the flash media driver that i did not use before. As a result, other removable device like external hard disk’s letter has changed. Some software like Google desktop, i-Tunes, Quicktime seems to be accessing files located on those removable devices especially the recently used files or file indexed (by Google desktop).
Well, the solution for this problem was changing the removable devices’ letter by using the computer management tools located on Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management. You will see the list of disks and just right click on the one you want to change (for other removable device like flash media driver it would be listed at the right-bottom panel, just scroll down). A context menu will be appear, choose “Change Driver Letter and Path” and you will know what to do next. Another solution might be uninstall the removable device and install it again later
For my problem, after I change the removable devices’ letter to the old setting and use new letter for the flash media device the message do not appear anymore. People who have experience with this error said that it also can be caused by windows/quicktime update or even computer virus. If this is the case than you might want to scan your computer or clear the application history like quicktime cached or recently used file or uninstalled the latest update. Good luck!

I read from other source if that solution doesn’t work you can create a “.reg” file containing:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
“ErrorMode”=dword:00000002
It will remove the error but don’t solve the problem. You can set the error mode value to:
dword:00000000
to reverse the change

Had the same exact, “No disk” error. Drove me nuts. Decided to format. But wanted to save all my downloads first. I Had smaller spare HD sitting in my computer. Thought I’d connect it back up, copy my downloads to it and format. Hooking it up caused all my drives to change their lettering. Seeing this I decided to try using the computer one more time… To my surprise my problem was gone… Everything OK now… Thank you very much .

@abbas,
Can you tell what you have tried so far?
The last resort, you can do what Deny has suggest,
open notepad or other text editor
paste the following text
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
“ErrorMode”=dword:00000002
Save the file (don’t save as .text) as something.reg and then close your text editor and double click the file.

In my case, I went into by bios and disabled the floppy drive.
My computer didn’t have a floppy when I bought it, 6 months ago, it so I put 1 in. After a couple of days of Googling the net, to no avail, I just decided to disable the floppy drive and it worked for me.
I had already tried to change the drive letters in disk manager but it didn’t help me.
Hope this helps some folks.
Another thing you can try is to put your flash/jump drive back into the USB port and click on the error to see if it goes away.
I sometimes think that if the remove drive safely in the system tray says can’t stop now, try again later, I’ll just pull it out, who knows?

I found svchost.exe in my startup, that was located in a temp folder, and turned it off, hasn’t happened since. The file dates, last modified, was 2 years earlier than the date created.

This will also occur with a Blackberry device that is password protected when mass storage is enabled automatically. It will connect, and ask for the password to enable mass storage but if you do not want to or you forget to, windows will see the drive but not the media. Because of this windows will throw the same error. I imagine the same may happen with an empty memory card reader.

I have been working with Dell for months on getting an ESATA drive recognized. Recently a new motherboard was installed and when the computer was turned on I received the No Disk message. My problem is that the partitions on the hard drive (C:, D: for backup and V:) now all are magically are designated as primary. I was told that I have to do a backup and a factory restore and then I have to restore my data as well as bringing all the software up to date. Since I did not get an explanation as to how these partions ended up labelled “Primary” I am concerned it will happen again. Any input will be very much appreciated.

I had this problem for a week or so, and other threads said that the problem was to do with individual programs, but it wasn’t for me as is would annoy me all the time regardless of what i was doing.
!
My simple remedy was to leave my SD card in the drive. Simple
